1. Al Soviet motor vehicle repair shop in Liecnitz (0 52/D U2), was located on the eas'
sid? Jauerstrasse, near the intersection with Opitzstrasse. lhe repair shop wa,
directly 311.bordinate to 2 headquarters in the Soviet reatricted area in the south?,
sectorof the city. The wares for the German workers of the repair shop, averac fJ1-25X1
about 80 men, were paid in the former Grenadier Kaserne, by a Soviet. paymaster, wh,
came from the restricted area.

in the former Kaehrichten Kaserne on the east side of Immelnannstrasse. These
troops frequently marched out of the installation at company strength for train-
ing, They were equipped with light and heavy infantry weapons, No mortars or.

hendcarts, Young Poles1.14 to 16 years old, were rrequently observed drilling
in the-terrain west of the barracks installation, near the Katzbach river.

with Soviet officers rearing ruby cap band and -epaulets whose basic color was '

7> An unguarded Polish office waslocated in the former Kart/mann villa on Post-
strisse; Folish personnel, roaring gray-hluo or black neckties, were seen on
duty in this office. All Germans dismissed by the Soviets had to report there
for reassignment to other employment. (7)
8, Cetereen 1948 and early September 1950,1 observed Polish 25X1
soldiers wearing dark-blue untforms with lisht-blue stripes along the outside
scan of the lone trousers, in and around the former Nachrichten Kaserne, on
the cast side of Immelmannstrasse. Their service cans were qf the same color

wearing the same uniform with yellow service color. Units of company strength
were seen marching out of the installation in groups separated according to
the branch of service., The uniformed Poles included boys abut 14 years old,
and young men in their twenties. They seemed to be officer candidates.

stricted area, obeerved Soviet soldiers nrlerating large switchboards,
the installation was the
boveet main signal center of the Lieenitz post. It was located in the buildine
of the former Nandwerkskanrer on the north side of Bitschenstrasse and the east,
side of Holteistrasse.
10. In the Soviet rerAricted area, on the west side of Doverstrasee, between Ditselie
stresse and Tannenbergstrasse, there was also a Soviet komendatura which was
the euprene tribunal for German affairs prior to the summer of 1950. This
komendatura was the superior headquarters of a Soviet "nein komendatura" on the
northwest side of Gartenstrasse. The Soviet military patrols for the post left
