THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
is Soviet agricultural aid to Communist China has been small. Some time ago the
USSR presented to the Chinese Cor;!munists as gifts certain agricultural machin-
ery and seed, with which the Chinese Communists were to conduct experiments.
Additional machinery or seeds were to be negotiated for, when desired, through
some manner of barter arrangement. Iowever, the Chinese Communists are
attempting to manufacture their own agricultural ir,ipple.nentu.
2. The followin, typos of Soviet-made agricultural machinery have been made

fibers and that the plant has strong resistance against wind.

for growth in Sinkiang, Tsinghai, Ninghsia, Shensi and hansu provinces. The
rubber content of (1) has been determined to be 7.4 - 7.9 (sic); the rubber
content of the others has not been determined.
