1. The Buna-Werk, Schkopau,has recently been producing alcohol from charcoal.
The analysis of the charcoal alcohol is as follows:
Methyl alcohol 0.0015 - 0.0018
Aldehyde 2.5 2.9'
Highest proof 96.6 - 96.9 percent
2. The charcoal alcohol is marketed as prime spirits. Because of the high
denatured alcohol content, it affects human eyes. The odor is rank.
3. The spirit goes to the Rektifizierungsanstalt Dessau VVB, under the Alcohol
Administration (Spiritus Direktion) at.Leipzig.
4. The spirit is purified again in the Rektifzierungsanstalt, an& is then
shipped to distribution points, and from there to the manufactories, such
as gin factories, perfumery factories, and the like.
