THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. On the Chocen - Brandys line, the railroad tunnel lying approximately 700 m.
east of Chocen (Chotzen) (051/N09) has been replaced by a railroad cutting.
Four tracks are now running through the cutting, the sides of which have
been reinforced with concrete, though only two of these are in use at present.
A road bridge traverses the gap over the cutting.
2. In the sector Veseli nad Moravou - Bzenec, a double track has been completed,
except for the work on the bridges which is still continuing. A large rail-
road station is being built in Veseli nad?Moravou.
3. In the sector Brno-Nave Mesto na Morave, a new railroad track is being laid., which,
When finished, will form another.connection between Prague and Brno. The
ne'K track and axches of the new bridges can be seen from the old track in
this area.
4-. On the That Druzby (Association Line or Brotherhood Line) connecting Cierna
nad Tisou - Kosice - Zilina - Bohumin - Prerov - Trebova - Pardubice - Kolin -
Prague - Pilsen Cheb, which largely uses the existing hacks but is to
bypass some of the cities, the present corMi6wof construction is as follows:
in the sectors from Pardubice to Pilsen:
a. In the Pardubice - Prague sector, the bed for the track and the widening
of the railroad bridges are completer]:, but the widening of the approaches
to the bridges is not yet finished. Sleepers and, track sections are
already being delivered.
b Near Pardubice, the new track makes a detour which begins between the
villages of Dasice (051/M89) and Kostenice east of Pardubice, passes
southwest; and rejoins the existing track west of the Svitkov junction.

c. Near Kolin, the new track leaves the existing track vest of Tynec nad.
Labem, bypasses Kolin to the south, and'rejoins'the old track between
the villages Nova Ves and Velim.
d. The Prague bypass begins east of the capital in the Kyje (051/043) district,
runs in a south-westerly direction, and passes through Zabehlice (051/L88),
south of Michle (051/L78), under the Barandov rocks, crossing the Vltava
river north of Chuchle (051/i,77) to rejoin the old track on the west bank
of the river.
e. A new railroad bridge is being built across the Vltava river at Barandov.
Work started about September 1951? The bridge will be supported by six
steel and concrete pillars, four of which have been completed, Each
pillar is approximately 18-20 meters high.
f. In the Prague - Beroun sector, the bed of the track is finished, and
sleepers and li
nes are being dumped there.
In the Beroun Pilsen sector, work on bridges and trestles is continuing.
The Part of the track in the area of Bukovec (N50/Ll4), east of Pilsen,,
has been laid down, and it seems that a detour around Pilsen will be made.
