1. In the course of the last winter 1951, anti-Communist pamphlets were circulated
in great numbers in and around Braila. These multigraphed manifestos were
signed Vulturul (The eagle), and urged the people to prepare to play their
part in the forthcoming struggle for liberations
2. The activities of another group, called Gupul Meridional de Resistenca (The
Southern Resistance Group), were also noted toward the and of 1951. This
group is reported to be working in cooperation with another organization called
Carpatina, which is stated to have a widespread network reaching into Bessarabia
and Bucovina. Reportedly, there are about 4,000 members of the Carpatina
resistance group in the Cernauti area.
3. Another resistance group which is called LNR (Liga Navala Romana - The Rumanian
Naval League) is reported to be expanding and absorbing other groups. One of
the smaller groups thus merged was known as Valurile Dunarii (The Waves of
the Danube).
4. Reportedly, in and around Bucharest there is an active resistance organization
called Vlaiou.
