THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. The Elovitsa explosives, plant is situated on the slopes of the Shipkamountains;
approximately 15 kilometers s;outh+aest of Gabrovo beyond the inhabited section
of Spasetata (xM-91+65 )
2. The plant produces:

a. Dynamite, average daily production three tons;
b. Gunpowder, average daily production four tons; and
c. Fuges, average daily production 16,000 meters.
One hundred and eighty skilled laborers. and 120 manual laborers are employed
at the plant. Only day shifts are worked. The plant is allegedly the best
equipped in Bulgaria and is completely Aecbanized. The machinery is of German
make. The plant has its own thermoelectric unit.
1. The explosives are taken by a narrow-gauge (Deca ville) railway to the.
Gabrovo-Kazanluk highway, from whlere they are trAns:ortecl by truck to the
Gabrovo railway station.
5. The shipments are guarded by 28 soldiers, including mobile patrol squads and
fixed guard units.
