THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
The State Factory for Aluminum Goods, Budapest, was the former, Metal
Sheet Factory Ltd. It is located on Erzsebet Kirdl;znd ut 51/67 Budapest
XIV, and consists of a block of buildings within the following streets:
Lorci, Cobor, Fffr6sz and Erzsebet Kir4lyn&, and covers an area of about
3,000.m2.
2. The factory has no rolling mill. It receives its raw material in blocks
of about 1 meter square and 40 cm thick. Th+sse blocks are sent to the
K3bd.nya rolling mill an!? are there reduced to sheets of 1 to 5 mm. thickness.
The equipment of the factory consists of about 300 machines, principally
stamping-presses, drawing and. stretching machines, moulding presses, two
large hydraulic presses and a large number of turning lathes and polishing
machines. Electricity is supplied by the local power station.
3. The factory produces kitchen and household utensils.
4. Personnel employed varies between 600 and 1,500 workers, according to orders,
and to raw material available. There were about 1,500 employees at the end
of 1951. All work is on. piece-rates, wages varying between 480 and. 1,200
forint according to the skill of a worker. A foreman receives up to 1,500
forint.
The factory works for local consumption and. for export. Goods designed for
local consumption are delivered to Vasert - VasAru Ertekestit8 Allam.i VAl.lalat
the State Iron Distribution Enterprise. Exports in 1950 included deliveries to
China, army mess-cans and kettles; to Korea, army mess-cans and. kettles; to
Argentina, kitchen utensils and kettles and to Israel, kettles. Exports in
1951 were negligibl.e.
