THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. There is a large cotton weaving and spinning mill 8 kilometers from the
center of Tirana. The production per year of the mill, is 20..000..000
miters of cloth. It was rumored that machinery for the manufacture of
woolens would also be installed at the factory. The technical personnel
at the factory are Czechoslovakian or Rumanian.
2. The State Bank$ which is the only agency authorized to buy-foreign bank
notes, pays for dollar notes at the rate of 50 leks per dollar., or 35
"korose'(sic) leks per dollar. With the latter, .food and clothing may
be purchased at the special stores which have been established recently
for the use of foreign diplomats and visitors,.

Lair of leather shoes made in Czechoslovakia sells for 1,200 to 1..600 leks.
