The Chinese Communists earmarked funds from Aid-Korea donations to procure
2,000 planes from the USE, but the Soviets said the Chinese Communists
need trained personnel at present more than they need planes. The Soviets,
however, have agreed to supply 300 planes by the end of June, and 700 more
by March 1953. Of this total 150 will be jets.
