The Infanterie Kaserne in Saalfeld (11 51/J 53) was only lightly occupied during
the period from 4 to 10 .:arch 1952 , There were only about 150 to 200 troops
wearing red-bordered black epaulets in the installation? No soldiers wearing black.
bordered crimson epaulets were observed during the period of ob; ervation,, Only
about 50 percent of the windows of the two buildings located. in the southeast corner
on the road were lighted after nightfall, Between 60 and 70 soldiers were seen
practicing with rifles on 5 :.larch,, On 10 :::arch about 50 men were s=een singing and
about 50 men were off duty. Trucks rwero seen at the rate of
