The following was the shipbuilding situation at various DDR dockyards as of
10 January 1952.
a.. Schiffbau and Repaaraturwerft Stralsund.
Refrigerator luggers (Kuehllogger)

constructed in sections (Sektionsbau . There is some delay in their b1ff etion
because of shortage of materials. Two luggers from Rosslau are receiving
final fittings.

Refrigerator luggers I I are at present under construction.
Preliminary work for the. construction of a Type II ship is underway.
Hull plating and other materials have been delivered for this construction.

Original arrangements for the reorgar ization of the V 1W . have been cancelled
and the present ar-cangement, is that the VVW will act as a department of the
Hauptverwaltung Schit'faft for the Ministerlum fuer Maschinenbau. The majority
of the employees in the TVW Headquarters at Rostock will remain, particularly
in the Planning and Construction Sections. The former VVW Rochseeschiffbau
Warnow-Werf't, in Warr~em :ende, the Hoct}seeschiffbau Schiffswertt Wismar (now a
VE::ri) and the Restock hochse.eschiffbau Dieselmotorenwerk are expected to come
under the direction of the 'YW, or directly under the Maschinenbau Ministerium.
At present the plan envisages the following d.oekyards under the direction of the
VVW Headquarters in Rostock-.
