kilometers north and south off Munp ty .gni (12-2z, 39-]A) (CV-584);, on
`Tox~,g ,ig Bay., northwest of Wonsan (12.26, 39-10). line- connecting
with iamhung (12.32, 39-55) (cv.7519) is 2 kilometers vest of .pty4IRP .
Details concerning these coastal defenses'. and a safe comtnun:ications router
are as followi o
Pointed steel ,bars set in concrete have been buried along the beach in the 5
kil Teter area- centered on.Munp Hygn&ni from Hs iaokengli (iJ ;~N )

'visible during ebb tide, but are hidden below the surface of the water during
flood.. tide-. The steel. bars are facing outward so that they will be able to
rip the bottoms out of boasts attempting to land on this beach,
Sea' ,es have been. vla.ced under the sea surface from. 2.3 hundred meters off
shore; they can be observed, but not distinctly.

t meters from. tie sholre. Land mines are buried ten meters apart and are placed
in. a 16hessboard pa;tteu.
A prearranged safety route through these defenses was established when the defenses
wer?e installed. This route is for the use of Ca u : ist intelligence personnel and
for fishing boats which recooxnnoi.tre the sea. This safety route is marked as
follows o The safety route for d:;ea landings is located near Munp ty 1i' and 1.6
eked, by' old gasolJme d.ra i> floating on, the sea sur.race about 20 meters apart.
Two other safety routes for pedestrians through land. ml..ne positions also eft;;
one is located between Munp'y iszguL and )siaokengli., and the other is about amp,
kilometer south of iaokerigl.i. Markers for these safety routes are not ]mown.
