THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
The hug-It=up area of the R-F-T ;rationalized Radio 1,.ngi.neering Plant in
^rfurt covers about 7,000 square meters, irior to early 19119? the production
of receiving tubes was greatly impeded by a shortage of materials, their
poor quality, and bad management Toward the end of 19) 9y the material
situation improved, primarily because of deliveries from :':estern Germany,
Through a systematic training of the workers the monthly production of
receiving. tubes rose to a total of 100,000 to 120,000 units in 1950, In
June ),)Sly the monthly productive capacity of the enterprise was 1110,000
tubes? The annual production quota for 1951 was 105 million tubes This
includes the production of tubes of the Pico series viich was to start
in Jul 1951 at a rate of 200000 unit's per year. The Pico series includes
26 different types of tubes.. Two to four of these types are scheduled to
he put into production every month ~ In 1951, the annual production of
r-ceiving tubes amounted to approximately 20 million eastrnarks? By 1953,
it is scheduled to increase the annual production of receiving tubes to a
total of 2,5 to 3 million u.iits in the plant in ~:rfurt and to 1.5 to 2
million units in the plant in I'Jeubaus,. In order to reach this tar ;et, it
will be necessary to increase the machinery of these plants by at least
30 percent and to work three shifts instead of tvio, 71-:e plants themselves

were to be manufactured either by the !W (high=frequency) engineering plant
in Berlin=Oberschoeneweide or the R -F--T plant in t?Ieuhaus,:,
