trade delegation. to Moscow returned to the D7' on 9 February, 1952
after a ninev-week visit. This second delegation had some success in contrast
to the first, which had returned empty-handed in ( tcber 1951.
It was agreed, that the USSR export the following to the : in 1952
7,000 tons of Naphthalene
11,000 tons of I3enzo1
130,900 tons of Crude oil
4 tons of Agar-agar
3,000 tons of Sperm oil
In addition, the DDR. had asked for quotas of animal sebacic acids and soda
which were not, however, g?aated by the USSR..
The delegation. wn.s told that the entire yearly production of agar-agar in,
the Soviet Union would amount to only 10 tons. 'This article is manufactured
exclusively on the island of Sakhalin.
All these products are to be delivered at 1951 prices.
