THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. Polish vessels have great difficulties in purchasing fuel oil for their
voyages to China. To help remedy this situations plans are being made to
have the tanker PRACA transport oil from Abadan or Constants to Port Said.*
Polish vessels enroute to China are to be supplied with fuel by the PRACA
in Port Said. These plans have not yet been put into effect.
2. The ships POKOJ and PRZYJAZN NARODOW were purchased by Poland with Chinese
funds.** In the future, vessels purchased for China in this manner will
fly the Polish flag because the shipping of Communist China will thus
receive better protection in the event of Nationalist Chinese attacks.***

Comment: The PRACA is the former Panamnian ship TAWIRA.
Comment; The POKOJ and P!RZYJAZN NARODOW are believed to be among the
in the China Service of the Polish Merchant Fleet.
I IComment: Approximately 50 per cent of the Polish merchant vessels
are outdated, 20 per cent are not serviceable and 30 per cent are in generally
good, condition.
