Camp Spratzern consists of approximately 25 large temporary barracks. Where are two entrances from Mariazellerstrasse south of St. Poelten. Outside the camp, there are three watchtowers, two of them on the south side and the third near the northwest corner of the camp. At the time of observation 25X18 the watchtowers were unmanned. Inside the camp only a few soldiers were seen, and no vehicles with the exception of one T-34 tank which was being cleaned. 2. On the road between St. Poelten and Spratzern the following motor vehicles were observed: radio truck entering St. Poelten barracks truck truck jeep, soldiers with black-red service color jeep, soldiers with black-red service color truck motorcycle, soldiers with black overalls. 3. The following vehicles were parked in front of the Komendatura: sedan (Mercedes), civilian driver sedan (BMW 132), civilian driver sedan with civilian passengers 4. The building on the corner of Steinfeldgasse - Wernergasse, Just outside Spratzern, is probably a tank officers' billet. CLASSIFICATION SECRET ARM Ev] x SECURITY INFORMATION Approved For Release 2002/01/04: CIA-RDP82-00457RO12100050007-9 SECRET Camp Spratzern was observed from Mariazellerstrasse and the southeast edge of Teufelhof, a farm approximately half way between St. Poelten and Spratzern. The eastern part of the camp is used as troop quarters, the western part as equipment depot. Little movement was observed within the camp; no sentries were seen on the watchtowers. The garage gates were closed. No aplinterproof 'boxes were seen. Groups of eight men each were seen drilling. Only one wire line was found leading to the camp. No cables or antenna mast were see 5X1 6 in the camp. Approved For Release 2002/01/04: CIA-RDP82-00457RO12100050007-9 The following motor vehicles were observed on Mariazelleratrasse jeep, driver with black-red service color jeep, one officer and one woman soldier with black-red service color and tank insignia T van4ike truck., loaded with milk cans T truck, Russian make jeep,, driver with black-red service color and drivers' insignia sedan., German make, probably belonging to a supply unit radio truck. 7? At St. Poelten soldiers were seen with pink-black, and women soldiers with pink service colors. Five soldiers took the west bound train at 1500 hours at the St. Poelten railroad station, 8.
