1. From the Komendatura at 38 Hauptstrasse * in Moedling a cable line, fixed to
the walls of the buildings, leeds through Klostergasse, Parkgasse, Bergstrasse,
Rosegger Veg. In the area of Bergstrasse - Rosegger keg, several houses are
connected by wires to such cables No officers or enlisted men were seen in
this area.
2,, The Sparkasse building on Elisabethstrasse is used as a Soviet billet and
probably as a military kitchen as well. The building shows many inscriptions
which could not be seen clearly. In front of the entrance a jeep was parked,
j,, Five soldiers wearing black service color were seen leaving the building at
Neusiedlerstrasse 20, going in the direction of the Academy. The building
on Neusiedlerstrasse is probably used as billets for a Soviet communications
wait. No sentry was posted here.
4. Grutschgasse is closed off by barbed -wise, with only a small entrance left
open. There is no sentry at the entrance. Eight to ten soldiers with pink-
black service colors were seen entering this area, and eight to ten soldiers
wearing black-red service colors departed. An unspecified number of officers
was seen, wearing black-red service colors, black cap ribbons and crossed gun
barrels insignia. The following vehicles were noted:

All sedans were driven by soldiers with black--red service color and driver's
insignia.
5o Infantry troops are billeted in the former Grand Hotel Hajek, north of
the Moedling Castle, as well as in a number of nearby boarding houses,
Infantry enlisted women were seen there, The follarring vehicles were
noted on Bruehler Strasse, betneen the former Grand Hotel Hajek and the
center of town:

There was no military traffic west of the hotel.
6o Few air force; soldiers were seen in Moedling. At the beginning of Bruehier'Strasse
one jeep, bearing no license plate, carried air_forge_personnel. Two formations
25X1A of two jet fighters each passed over Moedling at noon on 4 April 1952.
