THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. The barracks of the 311 Rumanian Infantry Regiment at Cala.fat are occupied
entirely by Soviet troopso The 31 Inf Regt is presently stationed at
TargU Jig., Soviet troops are also stationed at Cetate, the usual crossing
po_.'Lnt for most craft on the Danube from Rumania to Bulgaria. The old
cavalry (Ca?ar asi) barracks at Braila are occupied by a Soviet tank unit.
21. Soviet-. Air Force officers arrived at Braila in February 1952 and were
q artered. at the Bristol Hole . and at another hotel on Regala Street.
The barracks of the I Rumanian Bridge Building Regiment are used chiefly.
.for storing Soviet Army engineering equipment. The regiment itself is
presently stationed at Harsova.
4. The only Rumanian unit stationed at Braila is the 2. Frontier Guard
H.egiment.
