The shops only make repairs The boi.l.er foundry dis ssembles,, repairss, and
assembles locomotives, The work-norm i.s .1,1 locomotives per monjtY. This
shop has, six drill. presses., one large main turning lathe, five other turning
lathes The regular ,,killed. for. ce is .120 men.

The work week is 48 hours; the prescribed. work-norm 125 per cent. The morale
in the workshops, and also enong the railway men in the traffic sservice, is
eall'tr~emely low. The track personnel is wid.e.ly scattered and. cannot be controlled
politically, oar only with di:f?ficulty. In ad.d.ition., many of the former employees
are bade- in military service and. the replacements are in need of` extensive
tr. in rig.
