The General Director (Soviet) was paid 250,000 lei monthly, and the
Assistant General Director (Rumanian), whose post is a political one,
was paid.130,000 lei monthly. These figures obviously represent
pre-currency reform salaries. Information on their present compen-
sation is not available.
6. The number of Soviet functionaries in the Sovroms, which until last
year was considerable, has now decreased appreciably. The same is
true of specialists and technicians. It is believed that the reason
for this change has been their general incapacity.
