1. The port of Durres?can now accommodate seven cargo vessels of 4,000 tons each
at the same time. Ships without cargo or with light cargo can lie alongside
the docks, butheavy cargo has to be loaded or unloaded by lighters. There are
five torpedo boats and five mins sweepers in the port area.
2. Mined and fortified areas include those narthlg Patkup the beach of Durres, and f
south of Karavasta. Soviet authorities have made no changes In the mined and
fortified areas at Ittivtl, Manes and Librazhd. Artillery here (sic) is of
caliber 75/27 and 24/16.
3. Vione is under the =nand of Colonel Kazanowst a Soviet officer.. Port defenses
are constructed of reinforced boncrets9 stone and concrete) and sametites of
stone and earth. Known artillery calibers are 75/27p 149Blp and 24/6.
Cvtain 10/12 caliber gans are reported.
40 Shengjin and Sarande cannot take ships alongside the docks. Loading has to be
done at least 100 meters from shore because Of shallow waters.
