The goods currently shipped from Yugoslavia via the Danube River are mainly the
following.- maize, pyrites, crude oil, paraffin and oil waste .(pakum) 50X1-HUM

port of maize is approximately 20,000 metric tons. Maize is loaded in the
following places-. Pancevo - although marked as Danube port, it is 3 km up
the Tanis Rivera Kovi.n, Smederevo; Ilok; Zabrezje on the Sava Rives 50X1-HUM
Osjek on the Drava River. and Zrenjanip.. (Begej Canal).

Czechoslovak -exports by Danube consist mainly of coke, coal and heavy "Tatra"
trucks The trucks are loaded on 1,000-ton barges., each barge carrying 20
trucks. Not all Czechoslovak transports sail to the lower Danube (Brailu9'
Ismail.)a Some of the ships unload at Turnu Severin, from where the goods con-
tinue their journey by rail. On the up-river run, the Czechoslovak ships
carry mainly pyrites and bauxiteal
o Comment. No information is available as to the source of the
pyrites and bauxite going up-river to Czechoslovakia.
