Work was organized in two 10-hour 'shifts daily. C* When the 618/4 Labor Battalion arrived at Jobbdgyi.. three large tunnels had already been bored into the hill. east of the town and the battalionts first task was the removal of earth and stones. d, During 1950 the three railway links to the mouths of the tunnels were completed. In mid-fall 1950, work was begun on construction inside the hill. There was-a chronic shortage of cement which delayed progress a`.. considerably.
