1. The 16th 4P (Service to Poland.) Brigade, consisting of 600 members, works
in the forest area of Rzeszow voivodship.
2. The 38th SP Brigade is presently engaged in the construction of Boleslaw
foundry in Olkusz county.
3. The 9th SP Brigade, commanded hr Mleczek, is engaged in the construction
of Nowa Huta near Krakow.
4. At conferences in Krakow and Katowice on ],0 May 1952, the commanding officers
with their staffs complainedof the shortages with which they had to
contend; for. example, the 16th SP Brigade was equipped with only two axes
and a few spadeso
5. Girls born in 1932 and. 1934- have been enrolled in a brigades. Those born
in 1935 were also included if they had passed their seventeenth birthday.
These volunteers.can join e4,t~er the SP command or the ZMP (Union of P lish
Youth) organization. They serve for a period of seven weeks, and receive wages
for their work.
on 16 May, all those eligible in Warsaw were to be organized into sections
and platoons and -f.rafted into 325 SP brigades.
