1, on 8 June 19529 six thousand troops of the 12 Army Group left Hankcw and
moved south on the Canton Hankow railroad.
2, In June the 51 Amy had garrison posts along the southern section of the
Peiping-Hankow railroad,
In June the regular army divisions of the-Central and South China Military
Area Command were not up to-full strength. Therefore, the Peiping mili-
tary authorities ordered 60,000 men Iran (erred from the Central and South
China militia forces to the regular armyy.
