At a managerial conference the attention of the delegates was drawn to the Fact that in the 16th number of the Foreign Trade Newsv'reference was made to the production of four beam cathode ray oscillographs in Czechoslovakia, b, Reference was also made to the wide appreciation that Carl Zeiss apparatus was enjoying among the western nations, in particular Britain, the U.S.A., and Western Germany. The Carl Zeiss Lumipan was especially esteemed as a standard by which other optical apparatus was judged. c. Regarding the recent typhoid outbreak in the works, it was established that there had been no cases during the three weeks preceding the meeting,and since the temporary protective measures were hindering the whole working of the apprentices''wing, it was requested that these to 11ftodo ' d. ~ In regard to cameras, it was stated that efforts will be made to combine the various &heap types, Novar.. There was an acute lack of ball bearings for the ivt testing machines, and the works concerned were once more urged to get on with the job. c. Urgently needed electric motors would only be delivered by March 20 from the VEM Elktromotorenwerk, Hartha. NGA-wire was also lacking for the production of control boxes (Heglerschraenke). d. Additional materials urgently needed were: Tachometers for logs Valves for export orders Cast metal housings and covers for Pumps Magnets for compasses e. Technical projects 1. The supervision of the development and1construction of metereological apparatus in Sonneberg. 2. Testing the manufacture of synchronized motors in the glass factory.
