THIS, IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1 At the beginning of March, 1952, on the basis of a directive from the Ministry
of Metallurgy and Ore Mining, the target for Stahl and Walzwerkj Hennigsdorf"
was announced as being SM stee1 ingots 210,370 tons (iae. about_235,480 tons of
molten steel). In addition,,'about 20,000 tons of molten steel were to be
directed to the, steel. casting shop, whose target is 16,000 tons of cast
steel.
SM steel in ingots 17,120 tons
Electric steel in ingots 821 tons
Rolled products 13,932 tons
Steel castings 1,284 tons

5. Production figures for January and February/ 1952,

2. The target for electric steel in ingots amounts to some 10,000 tons of
annealed steel (turbine steel)o,This quantity will be increased in the third
and fourth quarters of the current year when a fifth furnace comes into
production, The plant is at present employing 4 SM furnaces each with a
daily total. capacity of some 160 tons.
3, The target for completed rolled products is set at 170,1.00 tons. This
includes all dimensions and types which Hennigsdorf is capable of producing
(flat, round,: square, broad.flats.he.ts,and rolled wire). it, is also
planned to produce 8,700 tons of electric steel, to be derived from the
10,000 tons of electric steel in ingots quoted above.
4. This plant has.now undertaken the production of ball bearing steel which,
until. now, has been produced and delivered from the Maxhuette VEB Unterwellenborn.
