THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
SAG ea qu -state that because of the failure of
the DER to conclude certain agreements) with the USSR and Czechoslovakia,
these two countries are unable to deliver the 3,600 tons of pure aluminum,
promised for the 1952 plan and consequently., the Bitterfeld plant will
supply only 1,000 tons of aluminum for the use of German industry instead
of the 4,500 tons promised.
the curtailment
will seriously jeopardize the electrification program, in which it was
planned to use aluminum instead of copper wire, of which there is a great
shortage in the DDR. The housing and shipbuilding programs will be
adversely affected for the same reason and export and reparations will also
suffer, Nearly all the copper, the report says, is going to SAG Kabel.
[Comment; These agreements involved the delivery of chemicals.,
rubber and machinery by the DDR.
