On 25 July the Chinese Communist-North Korean Army Joint General Headquarters approved a plan to organige a secondary defense line north of the 39th parallel. Troop concentrations in the western sector will be in the Pyongyang- Yongyu (125-36, 39-18) (YD-2453) - Sunch'on (125-56, 39-25) (YD-5267) triangle; concentrations in the.eastern sector will be in the Kowon (127-15, 39-26) (CU-4966) - Munchlon (127-17, 39-17) (CU-5249) - Sinch'ang-ni (126-08, 39-25) (BU-5367) area.. 20 Elements of the following Communist units will man these positions: ae North Korean IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII Corps. be Units of the Chinese Communist 15 Army Group1 and the 47 and 50 Armies of the 13 Army Group, 3. Combined General Headquarters designated the 1 Army (sic) of the Chinese Communist 20 Army Group as a reserve in Anju, and major elements of the Chinese Communist 9 Army Group as a reserve force in the Hamhung,area. 4. Prior to the decision to adopt this plan, GHQ bad decided to bolster front-line units. Some units now intended for the 39th parallel line were moved to the front-line area at that time. 5. No new Chinese Communist replacements have arrived in Korea since mid-June.
