1, The following three new munitions plants in Rumania have started
production:
a. One plant is near Ploesti, producing automatic pistols and light
machine guns. Reportedly, this plant has 39600 workers,
b. An arms plant is located in the village of Nucet, near Targoviste,
and reportedly employs 1?6Qsn,
c, The most important factory is at Fagaras. It, makes bombs for the
-Rumanian Air Force, It'operates twenty four hours per day. Re--
portedly, 16,000 workers are employed at this plant,
2. All these factories are controlled by Soviet engineers and are pro-
tected by the Securitate units, The factory areas are treated as
military zones. Any movement in these regions must be approved by the
authorities and then further approved by a Soviet commissar. Other
military regions of this sort are Stalin (Brasov), Craiova and Timisoara,
