1. Prior to 1 ?arch 195'., the 4th PS Bn in Rozvad,v (N 50?P 43) was subordinate to the
2d PS Brit in Plana (N 5a/p 55) which, in turn, was min ordinate to
25X1 I. Praguo. Other PS brigades *ere stationed in Cheb (N 51/p 37)1 Pobezovice
(V 5* 63), Enacni Vary (111 51/P G9), Volary (N 49/(1 55) and Susice6(1: 50/Q 28).
The brigae.e in Rixna was under the connand of Lieutenant Subrt (fnu). The 2d Bn in
Halze (r 5o/p 411) and one battalion each in Lesna (N 5o/p 43) and Zandov (N 51/P 46)
were also assignor to this brigade in addition to the 4th Dn. *
2. Prior to Decemben 1951, the 4th .Bn was commanded by 3enior Lieutenant 7'4otyka (:nu),
Who, according 'Lo soldiers, was replaced by Junior Lieutenant Tichy. (mu) in late
December 1951. *
25X1 The 19th Co of the -11.th Bn was located in Novy Dvur, 3 km
southwest of iinz.vadov? an numberec !,:t) men, including only 15 percent :S>lovaks. *
Prior to Februrry 1952, the personnel of the company were issued new gas masks with
hose and filter :packed in pockets and a paper?made protective cover for footgear- to
be used in contiminated areas. A new dress uniform of darker color was introduced in.
October 1951, ut.th the trouser having a large pocket on the richt side and a small
pocket for a marazine on the outer seam of the left leg.

PS Dog Handler Schocl. in Dollrov
Prior to 30 Octolnn 19513 a dog handler school for the PS brigades employed along
the western bordr r of Czechoslovakia was in a former monastery on the southern
edge of Doupov 51/1, 89) . It had been in Strasnice, Yoravia, prior to early 1951,
It was s ubordi. lo 13 to I I Prague and was under the nom- and of
Lieutenant Josef Valka. It consisted of 4 officers, 6 instructors, 50 trainees and a
guard detail of 1.0 men and was organized into 2 nlatoono each of 3 squads. A kennel
for about 50 dros was in the garden of the installation. **
5. The trainLnn coirse lasted from 1 July to 30 October 1251, 77,ach trainee brought along
an untrained Gorman shepherd dog from his unit. The daily duty included 5 h6urs of
practical training for the dons to teach obedience, trailing: ate, and theoretical
instruction for the dog handlers on the care of injured dogs, the raising and
training of doin, etc.
