A.. During the period from 6 to 12 July 1952, the Heinaer Holz (woods) hutment was
occupied to capacity and the Kindel hutment was not occupied to capacity. Farmers
stated that there was substantially less training activity than in the preceding
year. Only training at squad level of 800 or 1,000 troops was seen in the area of
the Hainaer Holz hutment and no more than 400 soldiers reeeived training at squad
level at the Kindel hutment. No major practices were seen in the Deteroda-Berka-
Bolleroda.area north of Highway 84. Five officers and 80 soldiers with about 10
trucks arrived at the Eisenach railroad station an. 11 July, coming from the troop
training grounds. A senior lieutenant stated that he wanted to buy a present for, his
.wife in ';ieissenfels (M 52,61 99). All officers and ELI carried bagcago and rifles. Two
large amphibioue cars each occupied by an officer and 8 soldiers arMed with rifles
stood on the 1.dahnhorstrasse on 12- Julve
