An A. gun emplacement with six 37-ene guns was observed on the eastern edge of the
field.. (2)
The following air activity and aircraft were observed at the field on 1 and

25X1 1 Aupust. TWO biplanes took off at 10 a.m. and lalded at. 10:50 aere Seven tiin-jet
planes were counted on the eastern, edge of the field and 14 _planes of the same teem
near the hangars on the northern edge.)
Other aircraft parked at the field Included b single-engine planes, 2 teen
-
engine aircraft with nose wheels,s, 2 biplanes, and 1 high-wine monoplane. (3)
7 Asiu.a.l. At 5t15 p.m., a twin-engine plane towing a sleeve target took off. AA
guns probably emplaced east of the field, fired at the sleeve target. The towing
plane first flew eta high altitude while its air sleeve was fired at by heave-41A
guns. The detonations of shells were heard while flashes and plumes of smoke were
observed in the air, Later, the plane flew lower and was fired at by light AA guns.
The aircraft landed at 6:15 p.m. After 3:30. p.m., there was night flying by twin-jet
aircraft. The planes- took off individually and remained in the.air for about 20
minutes, ilying still continued at 10 p.m. The runway was lighted. by white flares.
A red lamp on a 4-meter pole marked the eastern flying lane on the edge of the field.
A red signals about 50 cm high, was located at the beginainn of the runway. 'aca
western runway end :as also marked by a rod eignal. A rotery searchlight was in
operation eaet of the field, probatAy on the troop trainine grounds. "irfield boundary
lights were not observed. An obstacle light wae switched on on a watertower of .11tes
Lager0 jurin- the landings, the aircraft had only their position lights on, aid no
searchlights were in operation. "ircraft observed parked at the field included 7
.twinejet planes on the eastern edge, 14 twin-jet planes on the northern edge', 4 jet
bombers- east of the hangars in the center of the field, and 3 twin-angine plane-s and
1 high-in; monoplane.
Aircraft 'observed, at Jueterbcg-Altes Lager airflolc3. inclueed- 22 t An-jot airwaft
on 22 July and 23 twin-jot pianos on 20 July 1952. On the morning of 22 Julys two
three-axle trucks With trailers loaded with bombs were observed zloving toward tlua
outlying part of LIalerhausen farm. The bombs were Packed in crates which were
