THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. On 28. and 29 August 1952, a Volkspolizei tent camp was observ,.id
near Jasmunder Bodden on Ruegen Island. Three hundred tanks,
apparently T-34s,, were lined up in three rows for a stretch of
about 1.5 Ica along the shore of the Bolden. (1) Soviet units
were observed in the former Draft durch Fraude (KdF) (streri.Tth
through joy,) buildings. ilost of the buildings have been re--

conditioned. (2) According to a railroad official, ro or three
trains arrived daily on Ruegen Island during the last week of
liugust.. Durinf; the night of 28 August, 15 tanks loaded on well
wagons were unloaded and towed by trucks toward the VP tent camp
raentioned above, The train cane from the direction of Bergen.
2. On 11 Septerlhe,r, the middle section of the
forrier KdF build ngs in Prora which extends about I kri, quartered
VP personnel. About 70 new sedans 200 ZIS trucks and 200 gguans
were observed in the parking lot, learned from a rneraber= 25X1
of the VP that about 20,000 VPs o a ranches of service were
to be quartered in Prora. (3)
3. Soviet units were quartered in bunkers and tents in the left,
sector of the still heavily damaged i dF health resort, (2)
4. About 1,,000 glen of the Dienst fuer Deutschland (labor s e rv; '_ce
for Germany) were quartered in tents in the richt sactlor. of
this health resort, Several hundred tents were seen. Members of
the labor service arrived daily, (4)

about 209000 VPs were quartered in Prora in early
September 1952.

on the construction of military installations to the
Pa.sawalk-E/;gesin?Torgelow area.
