THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. The Botosani Collecting Commission supervises the activities of the
Comcereal agents in the Botosani and Iasi districts and maintains several
branches for this purpose. The central office is located in Botosani,
opposite the Town Hall, and employs 27 clerks, The President of the
Commission is Florea Selaru, formerly a worker in the Braila shipyards.
The Commission has bran ches at Bucecea, Harlau, Sulita, and Stefanesti.
2, There are cereals depots at the following places: Stefanesti (Trusesti
Station) has five large Britania silos, each with a capacity of 120 tons,
and 32 small silos of 30 tons each; Bucecea has one large Britania silo
of 120 tons, and six small silos of 30 tons each; Harlau and Sulita.
3, Each branch has auxiliary collecting centers in the neighboring villages.
The Stefanesti branch has auxiliary collecting centers at Stance,
Movila Rupta, Ripiceni, Bold, Stroici, Cucuteni, Pelin, These centers
supervise the quality and the loading of the grain and the payment of
the farmers.
4. Two large diesel motors at the municipal power station at Botosani have
been dismantled and taken away. The station has now one old motor and
two small motors. The machinery of the Ripiceni Sugar Factory and the
methylated spirits factory attached to it has been dismantled and taken
to the USSR. A smaller sugar factory is said to have been installed in
the premises of the spirits factory,
5. Many farmers, because of rumors that farms would be expropriated, have
applied to join collective farms (Gospodarii Colective) in the villages
of Vorona, Siminicea, Romansat, and Costesti,
