l This works is now producing heavy machinery and armatures. In 1951 the
factory was extended and pew buildings were erected..
2. At Komarov,, Podboranyy and Zebrak there are branches of the Alba Iron
Works, The Zebrak 'branch employs about 3OO men.
Oobur& Arms Factory at Pohorelska Masi
3. This factory was taken over by the Army on 1 January 1952. It employs
nearly 2}000 workers (including women),, who work in three shifts.
The factory produces artillery shells and belts and magazines for
machine guns.
ipollo? Oil Refinery at Vrakun
5. A new refinery is being built near Vrakun. It is hoped that construction
will be finished by June 1953.. About 3,000 men are engaged on the work.
6. The refinery covers an area of 3 square km. and is guarded by soldiers
as well as by factory militia. It is fed by an underground pipe line
from Bratislava (Winter Harbor).
