Late In August 1.9.52, a group of 15 to 20 soldiers was sent to 3arutin, Devin oko.l.iya, and was billeted In the house of Ahmed Makakehiev, on the eastern end of the village.. The soldiers 50X1-HUM were commanded. by a first Lieutenant and a Second Lieutenant. 50X1-HUM 2. The soldiers patrolled the village of Barutin and its vicinity, day and night, in groups of two. The troops mounted guard near roads and wells outside the village. The 9 p.m. curfew previously in force remained in effect during their stay in Baruti.n..
