1. The Volkspolizei along the zonal border in the Salzwedel were placed on the
highest alert status on 5 January.
2. A'atorized Volkepolizei units in the Cottbus area have been on alert status
since 13 January. These units are allegedly to be committed on the Potsdam-
Wbstkreuz railroad line after the anticipated interruption of interurban
(S.Bahn) railroad traffic between East and West Berlin.
