MII,TTARY STRENGTH FIGURES--According to a Chinese estimate that was
recently received at ~he French General Staff the permanent strength of
the VietnamPse a,rmy will~be one million men. Thus, Hanoi will have the
fourth largest ar~y after the USSR, the USA and China. All adults are
subject to active military service between the ages of 17 and 35. At
present 200,000 Vietnamese soldiers are occupying Kampuchea and 60~000
