MEMORANDUM FOR: DCI Committee Chairmen
SUBJECT: Support for NFIB
REFERENCE: DCID No, 1/8, 6 May 1976

1. Pursuant to the reference DCID all former USIB Committees
have been formally reconstituted as DCI Committees. The DCI
Committee Members, however, continue to represent their Principals
who sit on the NFIB. It is anticipated that the Committees will
continue to submit items to the NFIB for consideration or informa-
tion in much the same manner as with USIB in the past. In addition
the Committees will be directly responsive, on occasion without
reference to the NFIB, to tasking by the DCI, the CFI, and the
D/DCI/IC on behalf of the DCI.
2. In recognition of the NFIB's advisory role to the DCI all
Committees seeking approval of recommendations through the NFIB
should make their recommendations generally consistent with the
following examples:
a. The Committee recommends that
the DCI, with NFIB concurrence:

3. Please continue to provide this office with your monthly
reports on the status of your Committee's Ongoing/Pending Actions.
Regarding NFIB action items your Committee brings before the
Board, the Secretariat may be in contact with you or your Executive
Secretary to request support in the preparation of talking papers,
briefing notes, etc. as may be required to support the DCI as well
as in his new role as Vice Chairman of the NFIB.
