SUBJECT : Request for Declassification of Data Regarding
REFERENCE : USIB-M-262, 20 March 1963, item 3
1. Attached at Tab A for record purposes, as cited in the
referenced minute, is a copy of the memorandum from the U. S. Arms
Control and Disarmament Agency (ACDA) requesting postponement of
USIB action on the subject which the State member read at the 20 March
Board meeting.
2. Also attached at Tab B, for convenience of Board members,
is a "hard" copy of the ACDA memorandum for the Director of Central
Intelligence regarding the subject which was previously circulated to
USIB by electrical means (DTG 192120Z March).
3. As indicated in the reference, USIB agreed.on 20 March to
defer action on this matter, pending a technical discussion under the
auspices of its Joint Atomic Energy Intelligence Committee (JAEIC)
with ACDA of the dangers inherent in the release of the
information in question.
