1. At the 14 June 1960 Intelligence Board meeting reference was
made to the status of project The pertinent minute
of that Board meeting is as follows:
"General Cabell informed the members that a recent
letter from Department of the Army had advised that Army
was withdrawing support from project Ion
1 July, and the assets of the project will become available
at that time. He noted that CIA is not planning to continue
the effort, and asked.the members to consider their
respective agency interests in the matter. No member
expressed an interest in continuing .the project. "
2. Attached for information is the letter regarding project
o which General Cabell referred.
