1. Attached for Board review and consideration is Part Three
of the report for the President's Board of Consultants. on Foreign
Intelligence Activities as requested in the reference.
2. Part I was approved by the Board on 29 March 1960
(USIB-M-89, item 3), and Part II on. 12 July 1960 _(USIB-M-107,
item 5).
3. At the request of the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee,
this matter will be placed on the agenda of an early USIB meeting,
probably that of 13 December.

SUBJECT : Foreign Intelligence Publications
1. Attached is the third and last part of a report on foreign
intelligence publications prepared in response to a request from the
President's Board of Consultants on Foreign Intelligence Activities
(USIB-D-39,611, revised 9 February 1960).
. 2. The other two parts of the report were submitted in compliance
with specific requirements stated in the President's Board's request.
They. were. approved by. the Intelligence Board for submission to the
President's Board.
3. The third part contains additional information which the Ad
Hoe Committee considers appropriate for submission in order to round
out. and complete the report. We recommend that the third part.be
:approved by the Intelligence : Board. and forwarded to the President's
Board.

XI0 INTRODUCTION TO THIRD PART
This is the third part of a report for the President's Board of Consultants
on Foreign Intelligence Activities as requested in a memorandum to the Chairman,
United States Intelligence Board, dated 6 January 1960 (USIB-D-39_..r?/l9:-xevised
9 February 1960).
The first ,part, dated 29 March 1960, listed foreign intelligence publications
produced by the community and reported factual data on production costs. The
second part, dated 12 July 1960, was a narrative discussion and commentary on
the community publishing effort.
The present document is intended to serve, first, as a tabular supplement
to the second part and,. second, as a revision of the list of periodicals which
appeared as Section II.(first part).
Many of the items reported as intelligence periodicals on the earlier list
proved, upon examination, to be serial revisions of existing bodies of data,
operational documents, or internal staff memoranda. Such items have been
eliminated from the present list.
The list comprises substantive foreign intelligence publications issued
regularly and at least three times a year by a USIB agency or major component
thereof. In presenting distribution data for these periodicals we have, for
the most part, indicated only the pattern of dissemination outside the producing
agency.

The list is organized by geographic area, and within each area by issuing
agency in alphabetical order. The publishing agency and component are noted in
parentheses., as (Army, USAREUR). Brief comments on content and purpose of each
periodical are included.
Section XIII is an. alphabetical index of titles.
