Item 2 NIE on The New Course in Brazil
BNE draft coordinated with USIB Representatives for USIB
approval; Sponsor - Mr. Huizenga
BNE advises that during coordination of this regularly
scheduled estimate there was considerable discussion as to whether the
thrust or tone of the paper conveyed a fair appraisal of the Brazilian
regime. In consequence, certain changes in language were agreed
upon, although there were never any serious issues of substance.
Item 3 Proposed Program of National Intelligence Estimates for
the Period 1 January 1972 through 30 March 1972
BNE draft coordinated with USIB Representatives for USIB
approval; Sponsor - Mr. Huizenga
This regular quarterly submission of the National Estimates
Program has been fully coordinated at the USIB Representatives' level
and BNE is not aware of any problems or additional suggestions which
might arise at the Board meeting.
