(Internal Use Only - LLM) LIAISON Ken Bass, in the Office of Legal Counsel, Department of Justice, called for background on former Director William Colby's and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger's meeting with former Chairme homas E. Morgan (D., Pa.), House International Relations Committee, and Edward a oer (D., La.), House Armed Services Committee, on providing briefings to the House International Relations and Senate Foreign Relations Committees on intelligence activities impacting upon foreign policy. In response to his query, I told him I did not have any knowledge of a Memorandum for the Record written by Mr. Colby, but I did discuss the precursor of this session, what I thought this session had achieved and why, and its relationship to the Bolling/Hansen reform of the House rules leading to special oversight of intelligence activities for the Committees and 25X1 its relationship to the Hughes /Ryan amendment. 22. (Unclassified - LLM) LIAISON Pete Stockton, on the staff of the House Interstate and Foreign Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Power, called to verify that we had received Chairman John D. Dingell's (D. , Mich.) letter, dated 19 October regarding I said we appreciate?5X1 the fact that they were willing to be briefed rather than push the document issue and Stockton reiterated that the briefer should be a knowledgeable individual with the documents before him so that he could provide a helpful briefing.
