1. (Unclassified - ELS) LIAISON Called Jim Fellenbaum,
Senate Appropriations Committee staff, and told him about the
Washington Star story concerning the CIA report on Soviet civil defense.
I told him the Agency's classified report was still being prepared and
would be available to his Committee when published.
2. (Unclassified - ELS) LIAISON Talked. to STAT
National Security Agency Legislative Liaison, about Jim Fellenbaurn's,
Senate Appropriations Committee staff, trip to Europe. will STAT
make arrangements with the Air Force and Army for Fel eum's
visit to their facilities. I asked to communicate directly with STAT
Earl Altizer, Army Comptroller's Office, about the schedule.
3. (Internal Use Only - CM) LIAISON I called. Mike
Van Dusen, on the staff of the House International Relations Subcommittee
on Europe and the Middle East, to advise him that we were
working on a revised version of his comments for STAT
inclusion in his unclassified report of his 1976 trip to Iran.
I said I hoped we could. have these for him on 11 October.
F DDS&.T/OSO/TAG, is working on the revisions.
4. (Internal Use Only - CM) LIAISON I called Roy
Werner, staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and
confirmed that DIA, had arranged for him to
be briefed on questions outstanding in his mind about the South
Korean army. Werner had requested answers to the questions on 3 O

and I had referred the request to STAT
5. (Unclassified - YTF) LEGISLAT1C,, *Rob Carlstrom, OMB,
returned my call. He said the Administration has fnrmulated a;,~_~?~
on S. 1845, the polygraph bill.
6. (Unclassified = JEC) LEGISLATION Called Howard LiebengoLri
on the staff of the Minority Lr:_ der of the Senate. He explained to me what r
the Senate expects to cover on the. floor next week.
