OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL
Wednesday - 14 December 1977
1. (Unclassified - RSG) LIAISON Professor G. Robert Blakey,
Chief Counsel and Director, and Gary Cornwall, staff of the House Select
Committee on Assassinations, visited Headquarters to review material.
Material reviewed was the 1977 IG Report (sanitized and unsanitized),
and the Cuban Counter-Revolutionary Handbook. No notes were taken.
3. (Unclassified - RJK) LIAISON Called Katherine Essoyan, of the
Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, to inform her that the
briefing on terrorism would be given in the C&R conference room
at 9:30 a.m., on 15 December. She said she would notify her colleagues
about the time and the place.
4. (Unclassified - RJK) LIAISON Received a call from Winslow
Wheeler, in the office of Senator Jacob Javits (R., N.Y.). Wheeler referred
to Victor Zorza's column in today's Washington Post which cited a People's
Republic of China People's _Daily article on U. S. Chinese relations. He
requested a translation of the article. I called I of FBIS liaison, STAT
who said she would send a copy directly to the Senator's office. Wheeler
was advised.
5. (Internal Use Only -? RJK) LIAISON Called Colonel Mike Cullinane,
in the office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force --- Space Systems,
and in his absence asked his secretary, Mrs. Watts, to pass a message to
Dr. Charles Cook, in that office. It was that we have informed the GAO
that we will turn down their request for compartmented clearances for six
members of their staff for certain reviews within the Defense Department.
I reminded Mrs. Watts that the Director was meeting with Dr. Cook this
afternoon and should get this information prior to that meeting. Mrs. Watts
was familiar with the matter and assured me Dr. Cook would get the
information in time. ,
