6. I LIAISON Pat Johnson, in the Memphis
district office ot Representative Harold Ford (D., Tenn. ), called wanting
to know if a certain organization was on the "subversive list. " I suggested
she contact the Department of Justice.
8. LIAISON Lewis Hunter, GAO, called
requesting a meeting with a representative from OLC and the Office of
Security to discuss what clearances they should have. He understands
there are some kinds of clearances they may not want and I explained
that there were some kinds of clearances which they could probably not
get. He still pressed for a meeting and I said I would look into it and
get back to him.
9. I I FBIS Met with Bill Hoffman, on
the staff o Senator Mi a Gravel (D., Alaska), regarding Senator Gravel's
subscription to the FBIS Daily Reports and the fact that he had requested that
they be sent to a private address. I gave Hoffman a general briefing on FBIS
publications and their differences and told him that gratis subscriptions were
given to Government officials only and that we would have to send Senator
Gravel's subscription, if he still wanted it, to his official address rather
than a private address. I also gave Hoffman some additional background in
order that he understand the full extent of the problems involved in this
particular subscription. He agreed that the subscription should be sent to
Senator Gravel's Dirksen Senate Office Building and also said he would
rneotion 3o IE of the a -iitlonal background to Senator ~]ravel.
