Harrick, and discussed roblems of mutual interest concerning

of the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, spent the day in
the Coordination & Review conference room reviewing files. . .
LIAISON Received a call from
Ms. 1'1 ~riet Hackney, who identified herself as a representative of the
Business Roundtable in Washington. Ms. Hackney was interested in
the Director's recent public announcement of a cutback in DDO and how
this might be affected by current legislation on mandatory retirement and
age discrimination. I told Ms. Hackney we were following this legislation,
but that I could not comment on whether this legislation or other factors
were taken into account by the Director in reaching his decision on personnel
cuts. I referred Ms. Hackney to the Office of Public Affairs for any
additional public announcements.
