1. Ref, para 1. The same type of system needed to
transmit maps will also transmit imagery. The Secure
Voice Conferencing Nets, together with the Text Editing.
Communications Net will make it possible to conduct the
same sort of coordination of intelligence analyses that
we have traditionally conducted around a table.
2. Ref, para 2. OK
3. Ref, para 3. Agree
4. Ref,-para 4. Agree. I met withi ONE,
and reviewed the Current Intelligence Operations mprove-
ments paper with him on 15 August 1973. He was quite
interested in the text editing system and asked if it
could be used for ONE reports. I told him it was being
sized for a minimum number of pages for each terminal
and archival storage would be hard copy. I told him
that the storage capacity of the system could be increased
(core and disk) and tape drives could be.provided for archi-
val records. I also told him that a direct line or tape
could be output from the text editing system to the Printing
Services Division's photon offset printer for large volume
reports. I asked him to furnish me with some data pertain-
ing to the average number of pages per report so that I
can factor this requirement into the system.
